After almost 400 years, the wait is nearly over.
New Zealand’s oldest pub, which lay undiscovered since the visit of Abel Tasman, has been restored and relocated to its original site in the beautiful village of Ngatimoti nestled in the spectacular Motueka River Valley. The buzz about getting it open is overwhelming but please be patient. Everything has to be right before we once again throw open the doors of The Bugger Inn.
We are so fortunate that we have been able to secure the services of the original publican Alex Genius who is now foaming at the mouth to once again serve up the traditional pints of Old Git, Boring Bastard and Hoplicker all expertly brewed by the BBC – the Bugger Beer Company.
We’ve even managed to bring back a ladies favourite, Dickens’ Cider. The official opening is just days away and then once again throughout the valley the cry will go up: well, I’ve been Buggered!
