River Haven’s First Harvest (and you’re invited!)

by | Feb 21, 2023

We need you. It’s been a very long road indeed but coming up in March, we’ll be harvesting our first fruit as River Haven. These grapes will form the basis of our brand new River Haven Pinot Gris which we can’t wait to get made and share with all of you.

We want this vineyard to be as much a part of the community as the stunning river that runs past it. This is Ngatimoti’s wine, and we want to share it with everyone. So in that spirit, we’re offering 6 bottles of our first batch of River Haven Pinot Gris to each and every person that comes out to help us pick the grapes, for each day they take part.

It really is all hands on deck and will be a great community event – we’re talking food, drink, music, and a whole lot of grape picking! We’ll be harvesting over 2 days in mid-late March (exact dates TBC) so need to get an idea of who might be available and ready to join us! Our vineyard is flat and easy to work, so everyone from all walks of life, all shapes and sizes can help out.

Please email [email protected] and let us know which days you’ll be available (e.g. weekdays, weekends, afternoons etc) to come and join us. The harvest is the most rewarding part of running a vineyard, and we can’t wait to share, quite literally, the fruits of all our labour.

Dates will be determined by the weather so we have the right conditions to pick in.

Positively Together!
